Eloise - Beginner Music Production Portfolio
Eloise has completed their Beginner Music Production Portfolio.
Task 1: Interpret
For this task, Eloise has chosen A Sunrise as their stimuli.
| The final track | Supporting Evidence |

Why did you choose this stimulus? I chose sunrise because I thought that I would be able to have more creativity making music with the picture. What do you want to communicate through your track? How people wake up feeling tired, then getting ready for the day. How could you develop this idea in your track? Start with drumbeat, then make it more lively. What challenges might this idea present when creating your track? It will be hard to make it sound tired at the beginning. What musical and technical elements could you use in your track? How will they work together? A steady drumbeat would help. How will you organise and structure your technical and musical ideas? It will start with drums, and finish with a noise that goes round to wake you up. How did your ideas change between the draft and final versions of your track? The shape of my song changed. What do you think worked well in your finished track? And less well? It responds well because it is just like waking up on a normal day, realising that you have to actually get out of bed. |

Task 2: Borrow
For this task, Eloise has chosen option 5

What do you notice about the stimulus? The stimulus was not what i really wanted it to be, but i will try turn it into something i like What ideas does this give you for your track? I was thinking about going on holiday, and going in the car, coming up with the loop with the tune in it Where in your track might you use it? I will use it all the way through, using it as a heartbeat of the whole piece. What other musical and technical elements could you use in your track? How will they work together? I could use the bass and the piano to make them blend in them into the drumbeat How will you organise and structure your technical and musical ideas? The bass could go all the way through and the piano would be the melody. How did your ideas change between the draft and final versions of your track? I first thought that the melody should be first but i realised that the bass sounds better first What do you think worked well in your finished track? And less well? I think that blending in the drumbeat was really good, but i think that i could have ended better |

Why did you choose this idea? What inspired you? I love eating sweets because they taste good and boosts my energy. What do you want to communicate through your track? How excited people will be when they see or eat sweets What challenges might this idea present when creating your track? To find which instruments to use because it is hard to imagine what eating sweets feels like What (other) musical and technical elements could you use in your track? How will they work together? I could use drums to replicate the heartbeat of eating sweets. Also, i would use high notes on the piano to create an exited feeling. How will you organise and structure your technical and musical ideas? I will start with the drums and then build up What do you think worked well in your finished track? And less well? I think the build up was good, and how the instruments came together. I think that the piano could have been more exiting. |
