Which instrument/s do you teach? I know the feeling - especially in Sept with lots of beginners starting at once. I tend to use a mixture of books Abracadabra Clarinet in primary school, Cool Clarinet for very young ones in Primary, Clarinet Basics for older beginners or Secondary pupils. That mix keeps me thinking, but I am always adding to it with extra pieces along the way that they have asked to play, or need to play for school.

I think having a mixture of books keeps me aware of how my pupils learn and the way they are designed, e.g. Cool Clarinet with its concentration on certain techniques, colourful pages, quizzes and certificate etc. is great for very young pupils. Only thing - if they are playing the C clarinet then the backings don't work/not in the correct key and so I need to make up my own as otherwise pages of Es don't really inspire pupils.

What books do you use?
