London Wall Bass for double bass (Grade 4) – Natalie Bleicher
Meet Malachy Robinson! He's the Principal Double Bassist with the Irish Chamber Orchestra, teaches on the MA Classical String Performance at the University of Limerick and is a member of the string faculty at the Royal Irish Academy of Music.

This piece uses a Klezmer-style idiom to great effect, requiring a folksy feel. The student will enjoy the use of glissandi and the informal mood. The double bass and piano take turns providing the accompaniment for each other which develops the student’s awareness and makes for a lovely mutual support. It would be very useful for the student to listen to some klezmer music.
